I have lost contact with my husband over the past 2 years. I want to file a divorce and move on. Can the courts grant a divorce without the other spouse being present or contacted?

If you live in another state than your spouse and you need to file for divorce, can you file it while in the state your in currently? Or how would you file for divorce?

I have a legal separation from the courts, but now want a final divorce. What do I need to do?

I am in a very shaky marriage right now. We have talked about filing for divorce at the beginning of next year. In recent weeks however things have taken a turn. We are talking about trying one more time.
Here is the fun part! Last week I received a letter from my landlord that he is not going to renew our lease. Financially I am at a good position to buy a house. However I don’t want to buy a house if my wife is going to end up divorcing me and take it. I also don’t want to sign another 1 or 2 year leases to rent.
So I have to make a decision fast on what to do.
One option is getting a postnuptial contract that would indicate if we devoice the house stays in my possession. The trick would be getting her to sign it.
Another option is to create an LLC Corporation, then buy the house using the LLC Corporation. I don’t think I can have this done in the current time frame.
Well there is my situation, anybody have any suggestions on what I can do?

My boyfriend has been legally seperated from his wife for over 1 year (not quite 2 years). They have no children under 18 and property has already been divided and monies have been previously settled. How long would it take him to finalize his divorce since he has already signed the separation papers? We’re in the state of Maryland.

My ex wife has now moved twice since our divorce. For three years she lived about 35 miles away, now she lives about 70 miles away. Is there any way that she should be responsible for a portion of the driving, which she refuses to do?

does that stop the divorce ? If it does not stop the divorce why is his signature needed ?
